The Rifles are great punk/indie rock band from England. The vocals have a strong and distinguishing accent like The Smiths, but the guitar parts are edgier like The Clash. Their debut album, No Love Lost, was released in 2006, and another is on the way any day. The Rifles recently released the single “Talking” (video below) that was called the ‘Hottest Record in the World’ by Radio One DJ Zane Lowe. “Talking” is probably my favorite song by The Rifles because it seamlessly transitions between up-tempo note phrasing and introspective “slowdowns.” If you haven’t listened to No Love Lost, go get it and catch up so you are ready for the next album.
